Happy Solstice Everyone! We can look forward to a bit more light each day now. 2007 has been a fabulous year for me, very busy with more art and paintings than I can remember ever making, and lots of new and talented friends on Etsy and Flickr, and in real life. I am looking forward to having time to work on my book, trying my hand at some new art pieces and walking the dogs in the daylight. I hope all my friends near and far have a safe and Happy Holiday Season and Bright New Year!
11/24/07 Happy Full Moon! I have put some of my older sculptures on sale in my Etsy shop to make room for new ones- look for the "SALE" in the title, as much as 1/2 off! I have been making a lot of new pieces and some headway on the children's book. Hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving!
1/03/07 I have uploaded some new paintings to the painting page, and a new sculpture to the sculpture page. I am writing a story, "Little White Rabbit and the Tricycle", you can see some of the new illustrations on my paintings page. I am so busy! I have been posting new work on Etsy every day if I can, and there are new cards, buttons and magnets as well as original sculptures and paintings available to purchase. Since my time is limited I can only take a few commissions for the Holidays, so if you are thinking about a special piece, let me know soon.

9/01/07 Shhhhh! *Top Secret* news; due to so many requests I am working on a book of my rabbit watercolors. Yay! Hopefully it will be done in time for the Holiday season, but you didn't hear it from me, since there is so much to do between now and then... In the meantime I am working as hard as I can to have enough items in my Etsy store. This means that a lot of brand new paintings and sculpture will be added from now until December, so check here to see what I have been working on lately! Oh and HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my niece Jade next week!
9/01/07- Big thanks to everyone who caught my show at Suburbia Coffee- (isn't the coffee divine?). I am working on some new wire animals and of course more bunny paintings, with a hope to do a few more oils before it gets too cold to have my studio well ventilated. 7/01/07 New paintings added to the paintings page.6/27/07-I have been a bit like Alice lately, running as fast as she can to just stay in place. Summer is here and I have been walking the dogs up and down the hill every day that I can. If I didn't have them it would be all work and I would be as pale as fresh cream. Paintings are coming along, although I was sick for a bit and am just now starting to get back in to the swing of things. I will post more images soon, for now check them out on flickr.
5/28/07 Working on some larger paintings for a show in August at Suburbia coffee. Mostly rabbit themes and the like. I have updated some of these to my painting page. I am also uploading many images of my art to flickr and etsy, at a faster rate than I update my own site, so if you want to see my most recent work those are the places to look. I really like my last one"Android and Little White Rabbit" although I have been informed it is in fact a robot NOT an android, I flashed my artistic licence and am keeping the original name.
5/6/07 Happy Late birthday Sharah! I have less and less time these days, on top of my day job and my art life. I am still painting, but my poor garden is mostly weeds. I walk out into them, find a sad flower or two, and then get overwhelmed by the amount of work needing to be done and go inside and paint instead. I am happy about my bamboo shooting, but feel a little guilty about not updating my garden journal in so long. I have a couple ideas for this year's concrete sculpture, or at least a new retaining wall and pathway.
In the meantime, more paintings of rabbits. If I had a yard full of rabbits they would eat all the weeds right?
4/18/07-I am STILL on my rabbit kick and making more rabbit paintings and other animals as well. I see many really adorable needy bunnies on craigslist every day, but just can't take care of one properly right now, especially with cranky old cats that would think new cute bunny=lunch/plaything, not to mention how at least two out of the four dogs would probably think new cute bunny=squeaky toy. ... at least that's what I keep telling myself.
I miss my bunny Foucault who died in 1992.
So, I paint them, especially Mr. Little White Rabbit who I have grown quite fond of. He hangs around with bears, dreams of flying and generally gets in to trouble without being damaged. The perfect rabbit, for now. See some more of the white bunnies here and on Etsy.
3/31/07-The seal hunt makes me sick, please help if you can! I have added some new paintings to Etsy that will go to this and other animal charities, click here to see them.
3/29/07- I created a section in my Etsy shop for artwork, that when sold, the purchase price is donated to a related animal charity. After fees, I actual loose money selling these items, but it helps the animals so I am glad to do it. I am still painting rabbits, and doing some dog paintings now. I added a few to my paintings page, but there are many more on Etsy.->

I have rediscovered watercolors, so to speak. I find myself
digging up the right brushes and dried up paints that haven't
been touched in years, and have been making quiet a few
new paintings, including a series of Little White Rabbits that
are very popular on Etsy. I have moved my studio to a new,
much brighter and better space, but unfortunately a smaller
one. I have to wait until I have better ventilation set up
before attempting new oil paintings.
I have added some new sculptures from the "friends" series to the sculpture page. I have also been making a lot of art, and most of it ends up on Etsy before I can update here, so that is the first place to see my new work.
I am meeting a lot of talented artists on Etsy as well as good friends.
Victoria Takahashi is a great friend of mine who makes spectacular jewelry, you can check her out at Experimetal.etsy.com.
Another artist that is very funny as well as being talented is Matt Adrian at mincingmockingbird.etsy.com. His paintings of sarcastic birds and modern disasters make my day.
1/23/07 I am donating the sale of two rabbit sculptures to a non profit rabbit rescue called Rabbit Haven.

1/01/07 Happy New Year!
I have finished my last painting of 2006 with minutes to spare! Tentatively titled Rabbit Moon it continues on a rabbity theme.

Since Etsy.com has turned out to be a great venue for me I am now pointing people to my shop there- bluedogrose.etsy.com if they interested in buying art. I have been updating Etsy more frequently than this site, so if you want to see my latest work, that is a great place to look. There are lots of beautiful handcrafted items by other artist and craftspeople on Etsy as well, it's a fun place to shop!
